Biography

Torrie as a child lived in Boise, Idaho along with her parents and three brothers, like most people she aspired to become famous and earn money doing what she loved. However what she didn’t know then is that her love would be wrestling.

During high school the lucious blonde was a cheerleader and good track runner, through this she went onto modelling which reserved her a place in New York. From there she trained to be a fitness model and eventually won the Miss Galaxy title!

In 1998 the buxom blonde moved to LA where her and a few friends including her then boyfriend went to a wrestling house show where it all began for the diva! As a child Torrie had never watched wrestling before making this her first encounter with the demanding sport. The house show turned out to be a World Championship Wrestling one, a federation which would go on to change her life. Torrie found herself backstage at the houseshow where her boyfriend - an avid wrestling fan met some of the superstars including Kevin Nash, Eric Bischoff and Bill Goldberg. Nash at this time was WCW’s head booker; that night Scott Steiner had asked the diva to accompany him to the ring to which she agreed. Following this memorable first experience Torrie was asked by Nash to step in as a new girl was needed for an upcoming angle. Torrie reluctantly agreed thinking that it would only last a few months. However after a few shows the diva finally signed a contract with the company!

Torrie’s first real break in the WCW was an angle with the legend Ric Flair’s son - David Flair! It was Torrie’s job to play the enchanting seductress and lure Flair into turning heel on his father. Torrie then left Flair and joined forces with Billy Kidman and the Filthy Animals. The two had amazing chemistry and while on the road a lot together fell in love outside the ring! Torrie would leave the on screen side of things in WCW and made her comeback in 2000 picking up where she left off by the side of Kidman, until the diva turned heel on her real life lover and teamed up with ‘The Franchise’ Shane Douglas. This was Torrie’s last relationship while in WCW as shortly later the WCW and Torrie began having problems and she made her exit.

After a few months of no news it was announced the Boise belle was in negotiations with the WWE (then WWF), as the WWE bought out WCW & ECW the WWE created an ‘invasion’ storyline welcoming new talent from the two federations to their shores. The Alliance (WCW/ECW) would feud with the WWE in a pursuit to take over. Torrie made her debut during this time asking WWE Owner Vince McMahon on SmackDown! for a job, the storyline went on for a little while before Torrie screwed over the owner by showing up Vince in front of wife Linda McMahon!

From there Torrie teamed up with fellow former WCW diva Stacy Keibler, formerly known to WCW fans as Ms Hancock! The two instantly began a feud with the team of WWE divas Trish Stratus & Lita culiminating in a ‘Tag Team Bra & Panties’ match at Invasion in July 2001. Trish and Lita defeated the WCW divas however this was not the end, as quickly Ivory defected to the Alliance and proclaimed she was going to train up the WCW divas. Following a brief tenure on the WCW side, Torrie decided the pastures were greener in the WWE, she teamed up with the ‘Japanese Buzzsaw’ Tajiri and would go onto feud with her former tag team partner Stacy Keibler and beat her in a ‘Lingerie’ match at No Mercy in 2001.

The Alliance angle was soon dropped in November 2001 as the WWE defeated the members of the Alliance to take full control of the companies. Later on that month Ric Flair returned to the WWE and announced he was now the co-owner of it as he bought out Shane & Stephanie’s stock! Vince and Flair feuded and finally in early 2002 a brand extension was called into order which would divide the WWE roster between RAW and SmackDown! Torrie and Tajiri were drafted to SmackDown! and in April of 2002 Torrie accidentally cost him his Cruiserweight Championship! Tajiri then kept the diva on a short leash making her wear traditional Japanese outfits (geisha outfits), and he’d humiliate her in front of the fans! Torrie quickly got her revenge on Tajiri by stripping off her geisha outfit to reveal a bikini and left Tajiri. Torrie then had a short stint with Maven much to Tajiri’s disliking. This angle was soon dropped as Torrie then began a short feud over the Divas Undressed competition with Stacy Keibler & Dawn Marie - her fellow SmackDown! divas. In June 2002 the diva went onto win the Divas Undressed special. Following this she had a short feud with the winner of WWE’s Tough Enough 1 Nidia and defeated her one on one. Also in 2002 Torrie made it to the finals of the Internet Babe of the Year search only to lose to Trish Stratus in the final.

October 2002 saw the dawn of a new day…literally. As Torrie received her first real rivalry of the year with the seductive Dawn Marie. Torrie defeated Dawn in a bikini contest and a lingerie contest, however during this time Torrie’s father made numerous appearances on WWE TV! Dawn quickly used her feminine wiles to attract Torrie’s father and the feud between these two escalated further when Torrie found Dawn in the shower with her father! At No Mercy 2002 Torrie defeated Dawn in a one on one contest, however this was just the beginning of the war. in November/December 2002 Al Wilson proposed to Dawn to which she agreed, this didn’t sit well with Torrie, but Dawn told Torrie if she did as she said she’d call off the wedding! Torrie was asked by Dawn to meet her in her hotel room and proclaimed that Al wasn’t the only Wilson Dawn had her eye on. The two shared what was described by Dawn as a ‘passionate’ night. At Armageddon 2002 Dawn Marie vowed to show the world footage of what happened that night and the fans saw Torrie and Dawn kissing! Dawn however went back on her word and married Wilson! However the romance didn’t last long as on their wedding night Al died of a heart attack. The rivalry between these two divas wasn’t over by a long shot until finally at Royal Rumble 2003 the widowed Dawn Marie was defeated by Torrie one on one!

Torrie’s next real storyline surrounded her announcement of being in Playboy magazine! Torrie was the cover girl for the May 2003 issue and the week after WrestleMania X9 on SmackDown! Torrie had a ‘Coming Out Party’ for her shoot. However the party was crashed as in a shock revelation former WWE Women’s Champion and three time Playboy cover girl Sable made her return to the WWE! On that very night Sable smacked a kiss right on Torrie’s lips sealing the deal on what would be another memorable rivalry…

Sable came across to be Torrie’s ‘friend’ before showing her true colours by humiliating Torrie in tag team matches, bikini contests etc. until finally at Judgment Day 2003, we saw without a doubt the most explosive and hottest bikini contests in WWE history! The fans didn’t even get to vote as both divas received a huge applaud, before the decision could be made Torrie stripped off her bikini to reveal an even skimpier bikini and ended the match with a kiss to Sable returning her favour from March 2003.

Following her feud with Sable, Torrie was no where to be seen until she returned as the valet and on-screen boyfriend of WWE superstar Billy Gunn! The two were over with the crowd and began a feud with Jamie Noble and Nidia. At Vengeance in July 2003 Jamie defeated Gunn in an indecent proposal match, meaning if Gunn lost Noble would be able to sleep with Torrie! The next week on SmackDown! Torrie met Jamie in his hotel room and before we knew it Nidia and Gunn also got involved in a foursome! Following the night the couplings became friends and Nidia & Torrie accompanied their men down to the ring, this led to a short feud with Shaniqua as all the divas got involved also! However at this time, outside the WWE Torrie Wilson married long time boyfriend and fiance Billy Kidman.

After Gunn was re-injured Torrie was no where to be seen again, and was sidelined for pretty much the rest of 2003. In January 2004 it became apparent to viewers that Torrie would team up with her former rival Sable in a duelling Playboy shoot! The two divas were now friends and made appearances together. Meanwhile on RAW, Stacy Keibler and Miss Jackie were jealous of the fact that the SmackDown! divas were selected to be in Playboy and not them. At No Way Out 2004 Sable and Torrie appeared at the top of the show welcoming the audience to No Way Out in a brief segment. March 2004 saw the 20th anniversary of WWE’s WrestleMania pay per view, and as the jealousy of Jackie & Stacy increased on RAW, the more Sable & Torrie laughed in their faces. Finally on an edition of RAW, Stacy & Jackie confronted Vince McMahon who created three interpromotional matches between RAW & SmackDown! for the biggest event in WWE history! One of them would be RAW’s Miss Jackie & Stacy Keibler taking on Torrie Wilson and Sable in a Playboy Evening Gown match! Come March 14th the SmackDown! divas were victorious in defeated the RAW divas in what can only be described as an unorthodox Evening Gown match.

Following this pay per view the SmackDown! divas seemed to disappear. However it was announced that there would be another lottery to move around different stars from RAW to SmackDown! and vice versa. Torrie however stayed put but it was Nidia who moved to RAW and Miss Jackie to SmackDown! Torrie once again disappeared for a while before she was involved a brief storyline with the new GM Kurt Angle, The Big Show was about to throw Torrie off some sort of platform but Kurt talked him out of it only to be pushed off the platform himself! Kurt returned to SmackDown! later with a broken leg and blamed his injury on the buxom blonde. At Judgment Day 2004 Kurt announced Torrie would have to fight to retain her job and she did just that by defeated Dawn Marie.

After a Diva hiatus on SmackDown! the Divas were involved in different contests one of which was a Summer Breakout Bikini Contest on SmackDown!, Miss Jackie won the contest but it was Jamie Noble (the adjudicator) who was the real loser as all the Divas pushed him into the paddling pool!

After another brief hiatus, Torrie returned but this time as the cover girl for SmackDown!’s next pay per view - The Great American Bash in June 2004. Torrie wore a rather skimpy take of the Uncle Sam outfit and made her little promos on the show. She also announced that the SmackDown! divas would be hosting the event! On the final SmackDown! before The Great American Bash Torrie had a little clash with Sable backstage which resulted in the two facing each other at The Great American Bash in which Sable defeated Torrie! The next week on SmackDown! Torrie gained her revenge by defeating Sable one on one.

Torrie would spend the rest of 2004 appearing only on SmackDown! only on a temporary basis, in this time she brushed shoulders with an angry Big Show who tilted over her car. Going into 2005, Torrie did much of the same - participating in the odd match here and there. However, the time soon came for the second WWE presented Great American Bash. Torrie donned the Uncle Sam outfit once again to promote the pay per view, and this time it would be MNM’s Melina that would feud with Torrie.

The backstage feud turned into a Bra & Panties match up during the June pay per view, and new SmackDown! Diva, Candice served as special guest referee. Melina defeated Torrie in the contest, and once again the feud was over and Torrie would return to appearing on SmackDown! on a temporary basis. Many feared that Torrie’s time in WWE would be up come July, as her real life husband, Billy Kidman, was released from his WWE contract. This didn’t happen, yet Torrie was off WWE television as ever.

However, then in August, the time had come for the three-year SmackDown! veteran to jump ship. In a blockbuster trade between General Managers, Eric Bischoff and Theodore Long - Torrie and Candice Michelle moved to Monday nights while Stacy Keibler and Christy Hemme filled their shoes on SmackDown!

In their first night on RAW, the Divas made an immediate impact on the 2005 RAW Diva Search winner - Ashley! In an unprecedented heel turn, the Ladies In Pink was formed. Over the next few weeks, the girls would torment Ashley and even enlisted the help of Vicious Vixen, Victoria! The newly formed trio began a takeover of the RAW Divas locker room until the Women’s Champ returned! Trish Stratus came to the aid of Ashley and soon the odds were evened when Ashley and Trish defeated Victoria and Torrie at Unforgiven in September. Over the next few weeks, the groups would continue to feud.

In the meanwhile, Torrie joined the promotional campaign for WWE’s move to USA Network. Torrie became the poster girl for the move along with Carlito, John Cena and Triple H. The Diva took part in poster campaigns, advertisements - billed as “The Covergirl.”

Back on Monday nights, when RAW did finally move to USA on October 3, it would be a huge 3-on-2 Bra and Panties contest between Victoria, Candice, Torrie, Trish and Ashley. The latter picked up the win but over the next few weeks another Diva was brought into the fold - Mickie James. Now participating in three-on-three contests, Torrie was set to take part in the Fulfill Your Fantasy Diva Battle Royal at Taboo Tuesday. However, at the last minute, Torrie was removed from the card and would not be seen on RAW for over one month.

On November 28, Torrie and Chloe made their Monday night return as she teamed up with Victoria & Candice to take on the team of Trish, Ashley and Mickie. As a feud between Trish Stratus and Mickie James was in the early stages, the trio began deepened further into the background.

The New Year started with a bang on Monday Night RAW, as on the January 2nd edition - Victoria took on Maria in singles action. Maria got an upset victory, but after the match the Divas triple teamed Maria and Ashley, who also made her presence felt. Mr McMahon announced that in six days time at New Year’s Revolution, it would be the first ever Bra & Panties Gauntlet Match on pay per view. On January 8, Maria and Candice started out the Gauntlet Match and soon Candice was eliminated. Torrie was the third lady in the match but was stripped down and eliminated by Maria!

The next night on RAW, the girls appeared on WWE.com’s Unlimited - announcing their new stable name as Vince’s Devils! The Devils would appear throughout RAW for the next few weeks, and at the Royal Rumble drawing numbers for the RAW & SmackDown! Superstars. As with any group… the Devils began to disintegrate. As Candice Michelle announced she would grace the cover of Playboy, all was not well between Torrie and Candice. And soon, Candice and Victoria would turn on Torrie leading to a Playboy Pillowfight at WrestleMania 22. Torrie got the upperhand and defeated her long time friend and rival and would go onto become a top Diva on the RAW circuit. Wrestling more than ever, Torrie would often team up with Trish Stratus or newcomer, Beth Phoenix. As the year went on, Torrie’s popularity only grew and garnered her commercial success as she graced the cover of WWE’s Summer Special Magazine as well as the cover of FHM! In the summer of 2006, it seemed Torrie and Candice had rekindled their friendship as Candice abruptly was turned into a fan favourite.

For the remainder of 2006, Torrie was rarely seen on Monday nights, but outside the ring Torrie announced her split from husband and former WWE Superstar, Peter Gruner. As the year came to an end it seemed there was a relationship brewing between Torrie and Superstar, Carlito. The pair became an item as Torrie accompanied Carlito to the ring for his matches and the duo were a winning combination, as with Torrie in his corner the former Intercontinental Champion notched up win after win. Torrie and Carlito rivalled with “The Masterpiece” for a brief while, when Masters put Torrie in the Masterlock following a match up. Carlito eventually got his revenge on Masters in the New Year.

Following the rivalry, Carlito and Ric Flair were seemingly thrown together as a tag team and were again, a winning combination with the Covergirl in their corner! However, there was dissension among the ranks as Carlito eventually turned on Flair and Torrie! Carlito dumped unceremoniously dumped Torrie before a live crowd on RAW and the following week, delivered a Back Cracker to the Diva. Eventually, Torrie & Flair would take on Carlito and Victoria in a mixed tag match.

On June 11, 2007, RAW heralded the 2007 WWE Draft. Torrie became the only Diva to be traded during the night, moving from RAW back to SmackDown! That Sunday, Victoria joined her moving shows in the Supplemental Draft. The on-off friends and rivals, have rekindled their rivalry on pastures new on Friday nights! Torrie is now embarking on a new chapter in her WWE career on Friday Night SmackDown! but where will it lead?
